Review: MAC Penultimate liner in RapidBlack

I had really high hopes for this product. I haven't had much practice applying liquid liner, and thought this would be a great way to get that liquid liner look with the ease of applying like a pencil. My thoughts on this:

  • The felt tip is great, it makes it much easier to control the line of colour than the itty bitty liquid liner brushes
  • I didn't like the long, pen-shape. I found that to do my left eye, I couldn't hold it properly to get the angle I needed. I had a similar product from Avon with the same felt tip years ago that had a very short handle and it was so much easier for me to work with.
  • The colour payoff really isn't very good. Trying to apply overtop any eyeshadow left me with a very dull line. I had to keep wiping the pen on a tissue to get the colour flowing again.. but even so, the payoff left a lot to be desired.

So all in all, you can tell that I wasn't happy with this product. Too bad! I ended up swapping it away. I have heard a lot of people absolutely love it. For those who want anoher option, I still love my MAC Fluidline's. They give an amazing dark line that is so easy to control.

Product Review: Aveda All Sensitive Body Formula

I have been using Aveda's All Sensitive Body Formula oil for several months now, and it is a wonderful product with so many uses. It is colour and fragrance free, which is wonderful for sensitive skin. It is light enough for me use on my face as it contains Vitamins A & E. My skin feels so bright and soft since I have started using this every night under my moisturizer.

Also, it is wonderful for when I have an ezcema flareup and need to moisturize my "hot spots". It is also great for general moisturizing anywhere on the body.

It also seems to have really wonderful healing properties. I am currently having laser hair removal done and ended up with a couple of small burn spots on my bikini area after my last treatment. I have been using the oil to treat the burns and they are healing up beautifully with no scarring.

I highly recommend this product to anyone. I think it would be great for any skin type. Also, a little goes a very long way. So even though I have been using it for a few months, I am only a quarter way through the bottle.

Clarisonic Cleansing Brush Review

I received the Clarisonic Cleansing Brush as a gift for Christmas and have been using it ever since. I only use it at night as I like to use an AHA cream or a physical exfoliator in the morning and don't want to irritate my skin.

I use eye makeup remover as normal, then take my cleanser and rub a little bit all over my face, then I dampen the Clarisonic and turn it on. It has two settings for time, one minute or two minute. The one minute is long enough for me, so it runs 20 seconds on the forehead, 20 seconds for the chin, and 10 seconds for each cheek, beeping in between so you know when to switch.

My skin is very dry and flakey with an acne prone t-zone. This thing is *amazing*. The flakey's are buffed away leaving healthier skin, and my chin has never been clearer! When I use my toner after, there is not a trace of makeup left!! I can rarely find a gentle cleanser that will do that with using hands alone. I have used a foaming cleanser, a cream cleanser, and MAC's Cleanse-Off Oil, and all with fabulous results and a very clean face.

It is expensive, but worth every penny in my opinion and I highly recommend it to anyone!
